Canon SLR Digital Cameras
The Canon DSLR family
This cameras belong to the so called prosumer (professional–consumer or producer-consumer) line. EOS stands for Electro-Optical System.
Canon EOS D30 - is very special because it was Canon's first "home grown" digital SLR camera, announced in 2000. Canon was not pleased with the image quality made by this 3.1 megapixel camera.
Canon EOS D60 - came to the market in 2002. This camera had 6.3 megapixel.
Canon EOS 10D - was released in 2003. EOS 10D looks very similar to D60, but has significant changes as the softer body shape and the magnesium alloy case. The resolution reminds the same 6.3 megapixel.
Canon EOS 20D - this model was released in 2004 with an increased resolution of 8.2 megapixel. The continouos shooting was also increased by 50%.
Canon EOS 30D - Canon announced this 8.2 megapixel model in 2006. The major changes over the 20D model are: bigger LCD screen (2.5'') and improved shutter mechanizm.
Canon EOS 40D - This model is the sixth on Canon's prosumer SLR digital camera line. Canon EOS 40D hit the market in 2007 with the resolution of 10.1 megapixel. LCD screen size is increased to 3.0'' and 6.5 frames per second shooting.
